Soraya Ferdman, LMSW, is a New York State License Master of Social Work. She received her master’s in social work degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and holds a bachelor’s degree in American history from Brown University. Ms. Ferdman completed a fellowship at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia and received training in Family and Couples Therapy from the Roberto Clemente Center in Manhattan. Ms. Ferdman has experience working in school settings and community mental health care.

Ms. Ferdman works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to address mental health issues, including school anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and family conflict. She specializes in helping clients navigate periods of transition, including puberty, college, career changes, and divorce. Ms. Ferdman helps families and couples work through recurring conflicts and find more constructive ways of relating. 

Ms. Ferdman’s client-centered, culturally sensitive, psychodynamic approach is tailored to the needs of her clients. In her work with clients, she integrates both solution-focused and in-depth modalities. By working to address the unconscious patterns that give rise to periods of struggle, Ms. Ferdman helps clients move towards a greater sense of freedom, aliveness, and connection with themselves and others.
