Policies and Fees

Individual Psychotherapy and Couples Counseling

Initial Individual, couple and family psychotherapy consultations are by appointment only, and are 45 minutes long. All following sessions are 45 minutes.

Confidentiality

All sessions are fully confidential as bound by New York State HIPPA Regulations. Signed consent by the client is required in order to disclose information or communicate with other healthcare providers.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy requires a 24-hour notice, or at least one business day. For Monday appointments, notice must be given on the Friday preceding the appointment. Less than 24-hour/one business day notice results in the full charge for the session. This amount is the agreed upon fee for self paying patients. For insurance patients, the fee for late cancellation is $100.

Insurance

We verify, submit, and get prompt reimbursement by your insurance to keep your out-of-pocket costs to a minimum.

In Network Insurance

We are in-network with Aetna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and Magellan. Your insurance will be verified prior to your initial consultation. You will receive an email detailing your benefits plan, including deductible, co-pay and co-insurance, prior to your first appointment. You will be aware of your share and fee upon beginning your session.

We do not accept subsidized plans or EAP plans.

Out of Network Insurance

If you have out of network insurance, we will assist you in verifying your insurance and process reimbursement. Typically, out of network plans have a deductible. Once your deductible is met, we can arrange to have your insurance company pay their share of your fee directly to us, so that you will only pay your share of the fee and avoid having to pay the full fee out of pocket and await reimbursement.

Insurance Payment Policy

All quotes of benefit coverage from this office come directly from your insurance company. This quote is not a guarantee of payment or benefits by your insurance company or this office. You are responsible for fees as outlined in your insurance contract and you will be charged accordingly. It is best practice to check with your insurance carrier regarding your benefits.

If your insurance company or existing policy changes, it is your responsibility to contact us to have a refreshed quote done.

Fees

The fees below represent fees for out of network and cash paying clients. If you have in-network insurance, your fee, whether it is a co-pay, co-insurance or deductible, will be based on your specific insurance package. For more details regarding insurance, please see the Insurance section above.

Individual Psychotherapy

Our fee range is $125-$200 per session. The fee is set at the initial consultation.

Couple and Family Therapy

Our fee range for couples and family therapy is $150-$225 per session. The fee is set at the initial consultation.

Group Therapy

Our fee range is $50-$75. Fees for groups are announced prior to the beginning of a group.

Payment

Payment is expected at each appointment. We accept cash, personal checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). You can pay by credit card in the office or by using PayPal here.
