Raya Abat-Robinson, M.S.Ed., LMHC, NCC, is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Board for Certified Counselors National Certified Counselor. Ms. Abat-Robinson earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. She is certified by the New York State Department of Health as a domestic violence and rape crisis counselor, and has completed advanced training in EMDR and trauma treatment.

Ms. Abat-Robinson has been a staff psychotherapist with MTZ Counseling since 2020. As the Quality Assurance Manager at MTZ Counseling, she oversees administrative systems for optimal operations of the group practice. She provides administrative supervision to staff therapists and clinical supervision to graduate psychotherapy interns.

Ms. Abat-Robinson’s professional experience includes working in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools and non-profit organizations. She works with adolescents, adults of all ages, couples and families, and utilizes an integrative approach to treatment, incorporating cognitive-behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic methods. She helps her clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, career transitions, cultural identity, grief, family conflicts, relationships and dating. She cultivates a non-judgmental environment of safety, warmth, authenticity and trust, in which honest self-exploration can occur. Using a collaborative, multicultural and trauma-informed lens, Ms. Abat-Robinson helps clients recognize their personal strengths and experience healing and growth.
