Lisa Chen, MHC-LP, obtained her master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Baruch College. Ms. Chen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology and studio art with a concentration in Japanese language from Hunter College. Ms. Chen has experience as a therapeutic assistant at an inpatient psychiatric unit, where she facilitated and led art therapy groups. She trained throughout her graduate degree in outpatient mental health, serving adults and adolescents.
Ms. Chen works with adolescents and adults of all ages. She works with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, body image issues, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, and more. She utilizes an integrative approach and tailored to each client, drawing from client-centered, psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, and cognitive behavioral modalities.
Ms. Chen creates a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore their inner experiences. She is committed to cultural openness and sensitivity while respecting and valuing diverse backgrounds for inclusive care.
