Ms. Chung is a trained Crisis Counselor and volunteer for the Crisis Text Line. She has extensive experience supporting the social and emotional learning experience for children and adolescents as a student mentor. She currently serves as a Support Group Host at the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) for young adult and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, and is a research assistant for a study focused on perceptions of therapeutic mental health services to better serve the emerging adulthood population.

Ms. Chung works with adults of all ages and adolescents, with a particular interest in working with young adults. She works with clients from diverse, intersecting cultural backgrounds and is LGBTQIA2S+ supportive and affirming. She helps individuals with issues related to identity, life transitions, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, career, systems, ADHD, perfectionism, and everyday challenges. Ms. Chung takes a personalized, integrative approach, incorporating person-centered, psychodynamic, multicultural, existential, strengths-based, trauma-informed parts-work, cognitive-behavioral, spirituality, and mindfulness practices. She fosters a unique therapeutic alliance to help clients connect with their wisdom, validate their individual perspectives, and approach obstacles with bravery, self-love, openness, optimism, and clarity.

Ms. Chung empowers clients to develop trust in their unique “inner lights'" – their authenticity – to create a life that feels purposeful and expansive. She views clients’ goals as opportunities to cultivate compassion, reflection, and deeper meaning for their individual human experience. By working with challenging emotions rather than against them, Ms. Chung facilitates tuning into internal dialogues to develop self-awareness and advocacy. She prioritizes creating a comfortable environment that enables clients to build healthy internal and external relationships as well as make embodied decisions that reflect the truest, most joyful versions of themselves.
