Elena Garcia-Davranova, M.Ed., LMSW, is a Licensed Social Worker in New York State. Ms. Garcia-Davranova obtained a Master Degree in Social Work from New York University. She also holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, a Master Degree in Early Childhood Education, and has nine years of experience as an early childhood educator. She holds certification in Crisis Intervention Counseling through the Long Island Crisis Center and has completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training program through Living Works Education.
Ms. Garcia-Davranova works with individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds throughout the life span, including children, adolescents, emerging adults and adults. She works with people struggling with a variety of presenting concerns, including trauma, grief and loss, familial conflict, parenting, attachment and separation, anxiety and depression, school and behavioral challenges, suicidal ideation, gender and identity exploration as well as major life transitions. In her work with adolescents and emerging adults, Ms. Garcia-Davranova helps clients take on the task of identity formation and navigate independence in the world.
In her work with clients, Ms. Garcia-Davranova integrates psychodynamic, client-centered and strengths-based approaches with elements of cognitive therapy. She supports her clients by helping them find their inner voice, recognize their personal strengths and develop healthy coping abilities. By listening deeply, validating feelings and illuminating their own resources, she empowers clients to find the capacity for self-determination and self-nurturing.
