Anna Stock-Matthews, MHC-LP, obtained her masters in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Tufts University. She entered the mental health field after a career in communications, working across nonprofit, corporate, and creative settings. In this role, Ms. Stock-Matthews helped people tell their stories, identify their unique strengths and interests, and navigate workplace challenges including stress, perfectionism, burnout, and relationship-building. She has additional experience as a volunteer in crisis counseling and suicide-prevention with Crisis Text Line.
Ms. Stock-Matthews works with adults across the lifespan around issues ranging from anxiety, depression and self-esteem, to career transitions, relationship challenges and feelings of uncertainty. She utilizes an integrative approach that is tailored to the unique needs of each client, drawing from various modalities including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, narrative, and mindfulness-based techniques.
Ms. Stock-Matthews’ style is grounded in warmth, curiosity, acceptance, and collaboration. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can freely explore all sides of themselves and feel accepted exactly as they are. Working together, Ms. Stock-Matthews helps clients to gain a deeper self-understanding, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and harness their inner strengths and resilience. Through this process of self-exploration, clients can gain a greater sense of self-acceptance, feel empowered to face life’s challenges and live more meaningful, authentic, and connected lives.
