Amanda Neas, LICSW

Supervisor

Amanda Neas, LICSW, is in private practice in the Greater Boston area, where she sees adolescents, adults, couples, and groups. She earned her master’s in social work from Salem State University and worked in community agencies, schools, and clinics before transitioning full time into private practice. Ms. Neas completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, as well as a first-year training program at the Psychodynamic Couple & Family Institute of New England (PCFINE).

Ms. Neas has a passion for group therapy and is involved with the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy (NSGP), an organization dedicated to training and building community for group therapists. Within NSGP, she has served on various committees, including the Conference Committee, where she helps plan the annual conference. Ms. Neas participates in group training through NSGP, the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), the Center for Group Studies in New York, and an ongoing training group for therapists. She currently co-leads an ongoing weekly process group.

As a clinical supervisor at MTZ Counseling, Ms. Neas enjoys using her skills and experience to help new clinicians grow and cultivate their own therapeutic style.
